Student Opportunities at QNS

Forge Your Path in Quantum Research

At QNS, we cultivate an environment that promotes collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. Our students work closely with leading researchers, enjoying unrestricted access to our exceptional faculty, including regular interaction with our director, Andreas Heinrich. This collaborative atmosphere fosters groundbreaking discoveries and empowers you to thrive in the exciting field of quantum research.

We actively seek talented and motivated students, offering high-quality training and guidance throughout their academic journey. Scholarships are available for students at Ewha Womans University, and we welcome applications to conduct research at QNS from students of other institutions as well.

Immerse yourself in a world brimming with opportunities and embark on an exhilarating voyage into the quantum future. To learn more about our research programs and career prospects, please contact Jihee Min at hr@qns.science.

Stefano Reale

Postdoc at QuTech (TU Delft)
"Working at QNS alongside top-level researchers and using state-of-the-art equipment, I gained a deep understanding of quantum control and magnetism at the atomic scale. The strong international quantum nanoscience community at QNS has opened many doors for my future career."

Postdoc at Roland Wiesendanger's group, Hamburg University, Germany
"The best thing that I have learned in QNS is the attitude for being a great scientist, who always wonders, who is brave to ask any questions, and enjoys every scientific discussion with many friends all over the world. With amazing colleagues and friends, I could enlarge my understanding of single spin characterization on a surface and quantum sensing in the atomic scale, starting from ESR-STM construction."

Hong Bui

Postdoc at Pietro Gambardella group, ETH Zurich, Switzerland
"I am a PhD student at the Center for Quantum Nano Science (QNS). The main objective of my research has been focused on studying electron magnetic resonance, as well as characterizing the quantum coherence of single Ti spins on an MgO/Ag(100) substrate, using a Scanning Tunneling Microscope equipped with an Electron Spin Resonance (ESR-STM). We developed a new method to demonstrate atom-by-atom fabrication and coherent manipulation of multi-electron spin qubits on the nanostructure. Our work overcomes a previous limitation in STM-based quantum control schemes and allows the performance of quantum logic gates."
