We-Hyo Soe

After earning a PhD based on the study of mechanical properties of artificial superlattices composed of metals and nitrides, We-Hyo started his career at Freie Universität Berlin (Germany) studying the elastic properties of graphene by high-resolution electron energy-loss spectroscopy and also learned the basics of scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). He then moved to the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE, Singapore) and later to Centre d’Élaboration de Matériaux et d’Etudes Structurales (CEMES-CNRS, France), where he engaged in full-scale STM research aimed at developing single-molecule devices such as single-molecule machines and single-molecule logic gates.
