Digital Communications Manager

The Digital Communications Manager position offers an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who loves design and content creation to engage the public with cutting-edge quantum science at one of the world leading research centers in Korea. Responsibilities include:

(Graphic Design) Managing QNS visual identity and brand (Brand management), including:

• Managing the creation, production, and organization of digital and print collateral such as: graphics, videos, photos, brochures, reports, signage, etc…
• Develop graphics and animations for scientific papers with the research team

(Web) Website development/creation for conferences, events, etc…

• Website updates, maintenance. and audits of QNS web presence including: QNS official website(qns.science), internal(guru.qns.science), event websites, etc.

(Social Media) Managing #QNSscience Social Media presence (YT, IG, FB, Twitter, LI) including content creation and collaboration with the research team to promote research and results

(Software Productivity Tools) Online account management (Dropbox, Google Suite, Smartsheet, etc.) for the entire QNS team

(Team Support) Enthusiastically support teammates with problem solving, tasks and with events

Requirements:

• Bi-lingual: Korean-English at professional communication level

(Digital Communication management)

• Social Media experience (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube)
• Posting/Writing experience regarding Social Media posts (English & Korean)
• Adobe Creative Suite experience (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Basic video editing skills (Any software)
• Graphic Design knowledge: e.g. Color Wheel Theory, Grid, Branding, etc.

(IT management)

• Website (WordPress, Wix) development and maintenance
• Experience in HTML, CSS
• Basic knowledge of SEO; minimum
• Some knowledge of computer software and hardware
• Digital literacy: Google Workspace (G Suite), Dropbox, Smartsheet, etc.
• Google Analytics experience

Key skills:

• Webpage design/development skills (WordPress, Wix)
• Design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
• Communication skills; creativity; teamwork and the ability to meet deadlines; work with scientists to understand their work
• Project management
• Take initiative
• Time-management
• Prioritization

Desired:

• Natural science background – physics would be ideal – or at least sincere interest
• Science journalism or at least a passion for communicating science to the general public
• Enthusiastic team member
• 4~6 years of relevant experience

Employment Condition

• Contract period: January 1 2023 ~ December 31 2023 (renewable contract upon performance review)
