Abstract: Spintronics, based on the freedom of charge and spin of the electron, is a key technology in the 21st century. Magnetic random access memory (MRAM), which uses giant magnetoresistance (GMR), has several advantages compared with conventional electronics. Although conventional magnets are normally used, in our study, we use molecule-based nanomagnets and single-molecule magnets (SMMs) to overcome “Moore’s Limitation.” SMMs are also promising for quantum computing. In this talk, I will discuss molecular spin qubits toward quantum computing, including [1] the crystal engineering method, [2] the g-tensor engineering method, [3] the orbital engineering method, and [4] the molecular technology method. I will also introduce high-density memory devices, such as single-molecule memory devices, SMMs encapsulated into SWCNTs, metallic conducting SMMs with negative magnetoresistance, and photoswitchable SMMs.
