Title: Efficient fabrication of TMD integrated metal nanostructure for high performance optoelectronic devices

Abstract: In this talk, I am going to present my PhD projects, which focus on investigating transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). TMDs-integrated metal nanostructures are promising candidates for optoelectronic devices due to their unique electrical and optical properties. However, TMD- based devices are still constrained by issues such as poor efficiency and time-consuming fabrication. We proposed a new lithography-free process to fabricate metal/WS2-multilayer/ metal vertical Schottky diodes with high power conversion efficiency (PCE), and a 100-μm- sized MoS2 monolayer flake on ZnO-coated Ag nanowire (AgNW) heterojunction utilizing the metal-assisted exfoliation technique. We obtained these following results.
(i) The I-V characteristics of Au/WS2/Ag devices, obtained by a current-sensing atomic force microscope (C-AFM), exhibited clear rectifying behaviors and significantly improved PCE.
(ii) Surface potential mappings measured by Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM) and photoluminescence characterizations showed that AgNWs significantly boost photocarrier transfer at the MoS2/ZnO heterointerfaces.
In conclusion, we introduced a versatile approach for integrating TMDs with metal heterostructures and highlighted their potential for high-performance optoelectronic devices.
