To wrap up a meaningful 2025, WIS held a warm and cozy year-end party. We took the time to reflect on the team’s activities in 2025, learn from experience, and refresh our plans for 2026. In addition, we had the “Women in Science Award” awarded to six special individuals: lab fashionista (Valeria), pixel-perfect professor &…
As researchers, we recognize the importance of protecting the ideas and innovations we create. To help our research community better understand intellectual property protection, we organized a Patent Workshop covering the fundamentals of patents and the patent application process. We sincerely thank Cyril Chan, a foreign attorney at Kim & Chang, for sharing his expertise…
On Oct. 28th 2025, we had the honor to see Professor Chunglee Kim and listened to her inspiring career journey as an astrophysicist, introducing her current research before reflecting on her experiences studying and working abroad. She spoke openly about the challenges of being one of the few Asian—and often the only Korean—women in her…

Postdoc Niccolò received his PhD from the University of Oxford, where he worked in the groups of Junjie Liu and Arzhang Ardavan. His doctoral research focused on the electrical control of spin systems, with particular emphasis on their applications in quantum sensing and quantum computing. At QNS, his research explores quantum phases of matter in…
See ORCID Profile Postdoc During my M.S. and Ph.D. studies, I developed low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) systems and conducted experimental studies on Kagome and topological materials, along with the fabrication of two-dimensional devices. My research interests include electron correlations, topological phases, and unconventional superconductivity. “좋은 질문을 하는 것이 좋은 답을 찾는 것보다 더 중요하다.”…
