Art Contest ‘The World of Quantum’
The Center for Quantum Nanoscience is hosting an art contest called ‘The World of Quantum’. This is to engage with the general public by introducing our scientific field.
Our Center believes in paying back Korean society's investment in basic science by engaging them in our exciting work.
This art contest is an effective way to introduce our research results to the public. We would like to share our story in a creative way. Throughout the contest, we are showing the fact that IBS and QNS are conducting outstanding basic science. Scientists introducing the research results in a way that engages the public is hard and by engaging so many artists' interpretations, it is more engaging and interactive for everyone involved. The applicants can observe QNS's research topics and express them in their own voice.

Let us shrink down to the nanometer scale. If you shrink even more and go into an atom it becomes the quantum world. Things that are impossible in our daily life happen in that space. You can be in two places at once or pass through walls. You can be both alive and dead. Use your imagination to express the quantum world!

Schedule (2019)
- Come and learn about quantum nanoscience at our contest kick-off talk on ‘The World of Quantum’. This talk is specifically towards artists and does not require any scientific background. 1 pm on April 3 in Science Building D, Room DB106 at Ewha Womans University
- First round deadline: June 30 through QNS website
- Final round artwork submission: July 30 – August 1
- Exhibition : Late September at Ewha Womans University
- The winners will be invited to have dinner with the president of Ewha Womans University
